New Year's Message by H.E. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf To the Liberian People

My Fellow Liberians:

Let us give praise and thanks to Almighty God for his manifold blessings upon us as a people and upon our beloved Liberia, now in its ninth year of peace and stability.

2011 was a momentous year for our country. Yet we proved to the world, more importantly we proved to ourselves, that we had reached the level of political maturity to hold democratic, free, fair and transparent elections in our once fractured land.

As I speak to you, my Fellow Citizens, 2012 is upon us - a New Year, a new beginning, a new Administration. The coming of a New Year is a time for reflection, of looking back on accomplishments and of things unfinished. The New Year is also a time for resolutions and looking to the future.

We are proud of the significant progress we made over the past six years: in peace and security, economic revitalization, governance and the rule of law, and in rebuilding infrastructure and providing basic services -the four pillars of our Poverty Reduction Strategy.

We endeavored, in the first term, to address issues that required our immediate attention: to restore growth, mobilize investment, repair broken infrastructure, and to put into place the necessary laws, policies, strategies and systems. We accept that we didn't do all that we wanted; we simply underestimated the scale of the tasks.

Yet, if our people will look around, and remember from whence we started, they will agree that, indeed, we've come a long way. The benefits from the work we've done in the first six years are starting to show. Our pledge is to continue along this path. Having put the fundamentals into place, we are moving forward with the socio-economic reconstruction, development and advancement of our country.

The Liberian people renewed their confidence in our team by re-electing us to a second term. We proudly accept the challenge to work harder to complete what we started but could not finish. It is a welcome responsibility that makes us more focused and strengthens our commitment and resolve to get the work done.

The first priority on our 2012 agenda will be to address the situation of our young, unemployed and uneducated youths. We are emphasizing vocational and technical training as an imperative! Our youths need jobs, but they also need to develop the skills for the jobs that are coming in our mining, agriculture and forestry and, God willing, petroleum sectors. We are confident that the benefits of our natural resources will show results by improving the lives of our people.

At the heart of our national agenda for peace is national reconciliation, which is critical for socio-economic development and progress, as well as for peace, security and stability. National reconciliation will be the catalyst for energizing our people into collective actions for the greater common good and national cohesion.

However, we want to remind every Liberian that we have a constitutional duty to protect the lives and safety of all of our people, and that no one has the right to undermine the peace and stability of the nation.

We appeal to every Liberian to be law abiding, upholding and embracing all that we have worked to achieve. We encourage our people, especially the youth, to look to the future with renewed hope and zeal.

We call upon every Liberian to co-exist in peace and security, in a spirit of reconciliation and national unity. It will require the collective effort of all Liberians to continue rebuilding our country and to ensure that peace, stability and democracy continue to prevail. It is our fervent hope that 2012 will be a year of true patriotism and reconciliation that will accentuate the positive things that unite us.

We will, over the next six years, continue to implement our long-term vision and development agenda; conclude the processes for constitutional reform; expand infrastructure to a larger number of the population; strengthen our natural resources management; and ensure that we retain an open society based upon transparency and accountability.

As a New Year dawns, we pray God's guidance in leading our nation in the direction of peace, reconciliation and development. Let me seize this opportunity to wish Liberians - at home and in the Diaspora - and residents within our borders, a joyous holiday season and a very happy and prosperous New Year.

As I look at all the young faces here, it puts me back into the time
I was in your place, when I was going to high school like you. Let me tell you what a day, what one day in my life, at your age, was like.

Got up in the morning about 5:30; first thing you do, you make up your bed. You’re lucky if you got mattress, because plenty time you got the straw one, you have to stir that straw to make sure it was smooth. After that, you go down and you have prayers. Your mother and father made sure you had prayers in the morning. Then you do your share of the cleaning up. You got to do some sweeping; some people have to pull water, whatever it is; then you get dressed for school.

By 7:00, I see the people from CWA; that’s where I was going. 7:00, that first bell rings. 7:15, the second bell rings. If you finish your chores at home, then you start on that walk to be able to get to school. And if you go, and your Ma finds your bed not made up, she sends you back to go and make it up.

7:15, that second bell rings; 7:25, they had what they called the hand bell, and if you still walking to school, you start to run, because by 7:30, that door is closed and if you not there, you go back home. And when you go back home, you going get your beating, because you didn’t finish up to get to school on time.

And so, then, when you go to class, the first thing you do is to go inside the auditorium. You go into the auditorium, again there’s a small prayer and your pledge allegiance to the flag. You had to do that before you got into the classroom.

Then you go into the classroom, of course, one class to the other. Discipline, paying attention! I remember one time I had chewing gum in my mouth, chewing, chewing, chewing. The teacher stood there and looked there and said, who chewing gum
in here? Of course, you try to hold it under your tongue so nobody can see it. And so what he said was, “a gum‐chewing girl and a cud‐chewing cow, seems to me there’s a difference somehow: it’s the intelligent look on the face of the cow.” Wow! I don’t eat chewing gum anymore, because every time I want to take chewing gum, I think about the cow going like this….

Midday, you go and break; you go to the cafeteria. In the afternoon, you do some volleyball; you do some physical education and all of that. Then you get back home to have your lunch, and in the afternoon you’re going either to music class, or to typing class, or to some kind of class to make sure that the whole body, the character, is made. That’s what the old people did to us; that’s what got us where we are today.

There were no video shops, there were no hatai shops. Those are the modern things that you enjoy, and they have their own values – the opportunity to sit and talk. But some of those old‐fashioned values, we need to bring them back.

You know, if you made noise in class, they sent you to the office and you go sit in the office. Sometimes, you got to pump tire. You know what they call pump tire? I don’t know if I’m able to do it self, but you put your fingers like this, and you go down and come up. Or they said pick pin; that one, you had to stand on one foot and put one finger on the ground. But those things made us strong, they really did.

The other day, many of you know, the President of Botswana visited us and he and I were talking and talking about discipline in the schools. He said, “Well, in Botswana, we still use the cane. We still cane students.” I said wow! Today, in today’s world, you still canning students? He said, “Yes.” I said, but how about the
human rights people, they don’t jump down on you? He said, “The medical people told us not to cane anymore on the back because, you know, you could harm the child. But we still cane on the buttocks and today, the very human rights people you’re talking about, they call Botswana the most exemplary State in Africa.”

I didn’t say we will do it, oh. I didn’t tell them anything; I’m just talking about discipline. He also told me, “You know, we still got death sentence on the books.” I say, we too, but the human rights people in all the Scandinavian countries are after us. We must make sure we abolish capital punishment. He said, “Well, in
Botswana, you take a life, we stand to take yours.” Oh! That one, they don’t like that one! We’re on the books, but we are very judicious about it, we don’t believe in that too. But it just to show you that the best performing country in Africa, by any measurement, is a country that instills discipline, and that we ask when there’s an infraction of the laws of the rules of the land.

To you: for your own progress, for your own future, for your own professionalism, some of those old standing habits, like respect for others, like preparing your lessons, by making sure you go to school on time, and in school you apply yourself with discipline. Those are the things that build character. Those are the things that set you up in a place where you will achieve what you want to in this world.

Those are the things that will make you successful where you can compete, not only in Liberia, but anywhere in the world, and you can be what you want to be.

I just buried my loved one in garbage and human waste!!!

People spend so much time complaining that the cemeteries in Liberia, especially in the Monrovia area, are unfit for burials, yet we the Liberian people keep burying there. Why, what is the problem, what is wrong with Liberians my people....we complain that Liberia is the oldest country in Africa and is still at the bottom of most African countries, yet we do nothing to help build it into a new Liberia. So many are still just thinking about themselves and the close family member or should I say just the ones they care about.

Now could a Liberian tell me why they could consider burying their loved one on Duport Road or Caldwell or some other cemetery or place to bury in the Monrovia area instead of KAISER MEMORIAL LAWN CEMETERY....please help me understand why..because it is not the price because just about anyone or let me say anyone can afford to bury at this modern well kept clean cemetery. There are very affordable basic burial packages all the way up to deluxe packages. Oh, maybe they need all the extra money for the repast. That's the most important thing about burying loved ones in Liberia you know. Some do not even go to the funeral, just show up at the repast for a good time with negativity about the food's taste, what the family wore, whether they cried or looked sad enough and who the caterer is. Wow, huh. Don't you think the most important thing should be giving the dead a secure burial forever in a clean well kept peaceful cemetery?

And funeral homes who are not referring deceased loved ones to Kaiser Memorial Lawn cemetery, what's the problem? Someone tell me what is going on in Liberia with Liberians thinking that Liberians can do nothing right. Liberians are just like all others from every country in the world. Good, bad, smart, stupid, jealous, trouble makers and those who just will not lift their finger to help a good thing if they think nothing is in it for them.

All those who have buried their loved ones at Kaiser...thank you so much for your donation for contributing to the new Liberia as it is being built.

And this thing about burying on the family farm or a piece of land that some member of the family owns is so not thinking of the growth of Liberia and especially that dead loved one. My people, as Liberia grows all of those farms and backyard graves will be destroyed. Liberia will rise again and it has already started. Stop burying your loved one just anywhere because you think nothing is in Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery for you. Something is there for every Liberian and friends of Liberians because it helps make Liberia look good and clean and having much respect for the dead to the entire world.

KAISER MEMORIAL LAWN CEMETERY IS FOR ALL LIBERIANS AND NOT JUST THE OWNERS. It took a lot of courage and hard work for it to be where it is today in Liberia. And by you burying your loved one there, you too own a part of it. Oh wait a minute. It is owned by Liberians and Liberians do not do anything for long. My people, stop the jealousy, evilness and negativity and do your part for Liberia in any way you can.

Help beautify Liberia by burying at KAISER MEMORIAL LAWN CEMETERY in Brewerville. Oh I forgot you own a piece of land somewhere...you too will open up your own cemetery. Oh well Liberian.

Bury your loved one there or sign a contract for your own future burial and stop the lies and misinformation about a place that you too could call your eternal resting resting place forever. President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf said she will not run for a second term!!!

President Johnson-Sirleaf did say that she will not run for the second turn. But does she have the right to change her mind? Is there anyone who can do a better job than what she has done? Well, run against her and win. Prove yourself instead of saying she said she will not run for a second turn. President Sirleaf has all legal rights to run for a second turn under Liberia's constitution.

It is very transparent what this lady has done in her very short six years as President of Liberia. Those who say they do not see what she has done do see it, but may not be educated enough to understand that what they see if it is not dropping out of the sky, rather than someone is behind the negotiation. Who got all of the loans that other countries gave to Liberia renegotiated? Do you think that America, England, Germany, etc, etc and the World Bank just decided to wave Liberia's loans if they did not think the present president was doing a good job and had built a good reliable relationship with other countries?

My people, even the great United States has some form of corruption. Liberia has a long way to go...but my people Liberians did themselves the biggest favor when they voted her into office.

These people who do not see what this lady is doing for Liberia...just do not want to say that they do see it or just do not have Liberia at the heart. They just want quick money. Do what you can for your country, not what your country can do for you. All Liberians need to stop being so selfish and jealous. Do your part.

Liberia will rise again and when it does....you, your children and grandchildren will benefit from it.

Stop all of the complaining and do your part. It may look the same, but anything in the interest of Liberia, no matter how small it is may be very important for the growth of the land.

Do something for your country my people, stop looking for negativity. Look for the positive and help it move in a greater direction.

You too can make a difference my people. You too. Say "thank you" to Ellen for what she has done, rather trying to create negativity and mistrust to the Liberian society.

I say to all Liberians, no matter where you live, Liberia is your home. Help develop it, not just take from it.

The good old days of Liberia. Do you remember the Tubman and Tolbert eras? Liberia was on it's way to much greater things. Those two presidents believed that all were equal. They integrated with tribal people and even had children by them. All of this segregation thing is so made up. Liberians are talkers, but they always knew that Liberians are Liberians whether Bassa, Kru, Kpelle etc. or so-called Congo people. That's the real funny part. Everybody has a native side in Liberia, be it that they can speak the dialect or not. The mother, father, grand parents etc. have some form of native Liberian background. Liberians are so mixed they all could be related.

This upcoming election is going to make history in Liberia. I am sure that all Liberians will get out there and vote for what they believe is best for the country and not for who they know will help them if they win. Let all Liberians do the right thing my people. Aren't Liberians tired of being at the poopoo end of the world?
Not trying to tell anyone whom to vote for, but look around my people, there is some form of peace in the land. Of course some officials need to go, but this administration has done wonders for Liberia.

Imagine if the Tubman and Tolbert era was followed by the many great things they did, where Liberia would have been today. Lets all Liberians work together for once my people. Those of you in top offices, knowing that you are scared to say the truth, step down and let someone with balls help grow the economy of this land.

Liberia will rise again, but all Liberians and friends of Liberia needs to stop the corruption and develop this very beautiful rain forest country.

Liberia is on it's way to be where it should be. Congratulations to all Liberians for all they do. Even the negativity is positive in some ways.

Yes, we got him. President Obama deserves a lot of credit. George Bush huffed and puffed about getting Bin Laden, but never did. It took our great President Barack Obama to do what Bush never could. Congratulations to our elite servicemen and women who got it done in the face of danger. They are national heroes and President Obama is a great president.

My heart goes out to the innocent victims of the terrible Japanese earthquake. Why God allows tragedies like this to happen I will never understand. Pictures of mothers holding their babies in their arms surrounded by ruin are heartbreaking. It makes you
wonder how in the world will people in a situation like this ever be able to rebuild their lives. So many have lost everything, and now we are hearing that the death toll will be in the tens of thousands.

To make matters worse we are watching a potential nuclear nightmare unfold. The only country to ever have nuclear bombs dropped on it now faces the real chance that their people will suffer from yet another nuclear tragedy of the first order. Earthquake damaged nuclear reactors have had their cooling systems breached, and they may well be in a catastrophic nuclear
meltdown as we speak. This could have a long term effect upon the Japanese people for decades to come. Exposure to radiation can be deadly and it can often cause cancer to appear even years after the exposure. And then we have the very real possibility that the radiation could get into the jet stream and spread all around the world. The whole world could be facing an unspeakable and unthinkable nuclear crisis. Let us all pray that this will not happen.

As the world scrambles to provide assistance to the people of Japan, we should try to use this tragedy as a means to bring all of the people of this planet together as one.

Disasters such as this remind us of how very fragile life itself and be and how helpless mankind can be rendered in the face of the brutal force of nature. With all
of the technological advances accomplished by science in the past century, when it comes right down to it, we are in the hands of God and when in His wisdom he decides to allow something like this to happen, we as a people are helpless to stop it.

If you live in Monrovia or adjacent to Monrovia, Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery is the place to bury your loved ones and set aside a plot for your future burial. There is no other decent place for burial in Liberia. Every March of each year, Liberians go to cemeteries to visit, clean and place flowers on love one's graves. It is a terrible sight to see desecrated graves, people living in graves, and cooking like they are in their backyards. They are not able to reach love one's graves because of poor planning. Around every grave is a tomb at least two to three feet above ground which makes it impossible to get to many graves.

Palm Grove Cemetery should be flattened

The acting mayor of Monrovia, Liberia said on 107.9 talk show the other day that Palm Grove Cemetery should allow only head stones like how it is done in the USA and Europe. The Palm Grove Cemetery has been open to criminals for about a century now. There is grave damage and it has turned into a living area for drug users. It is also used as a garage dump for residents near the area.

Mary Bloh, the acting mayor of Monrovia, has done a wonderful job keeping the city a hundred times cleaner that it was during the other mayors before her. Even the city hall has been given a new face look that reminds many of the old Monrovia City Hall.

Liberia will rise again. My people, Liberia is on it's way for many being up there with other African countries.

Lets not forget the works of the Minister of Justice who has dropped crime more than 54 percent.

Liberia is so filthy with waste, germs that are very toxic to even to a rat, yet it's one of the most beautiful places on earth. Try planting money and it will grow. This place I am talking about needs no fertilize for anything to grow. It's naturally gifted by the higher power.

Aretha Franklin

Here is some really bad news.

Fox 2 News in Detroit has learned that the "Queen of Soul" has cancer. A relative of Aretha Franklin tells reporter Al Allen that the icon has cancer. Another relative says the family is very concerned.

At this time Franklin's family says she is doing "OK", but they are asking for the continued prayers and thoughts from the community.

Pop Crunch.com published an article today siting a report by The National Enquirer that Franklin has incurable pancreatic cancer. Fox 2 could not confirm the type of cancer that Franklin has. Last week she underwent surgery for a mystery illness.

The surgery was deemed a success, but it came under mysterious circumstances. A few weeks ago Franklin canceled all concerts through May 2011 due to "medical reasons."

Asshole, read the Bible and just use your empty head to concern yourself that if being gay is a sin than being straight is a sin too.

Obama's kids go to a top school, what about the rest of us?

Obama only commented on education after he was asked about the expensive school that his daughters go to. Of course all children of presidents should have the best of education, but don't you think that should apply to the entire country's children? You know those politician's children sooner or later have to interact with the real world and all of those half educated ones out there. Let me tell you, the worst ones to have to deal with are the half educated ones...and America has it's share.

Politicians and wealthy people care only about themselves

America has a 14% deficit with no money and the economy at it's worst. There are no jobs and many are losing their homes. Politicians know how to raise millions to run for office but do not know how to raise money to pay off deficits. Very interesting.

My people, the big companies and wealthy people are giving millions to campaigns. Is it for the country's interest or for themselves? What do these politicians have to do for you? Are you buying special favors? Yes you are. Do you care for America as a whole? No you do not.

Politicians, I say to you if you can raise millions to run for office so you can make more to overfill your pockets, then you can do the same for the deficit. If most wealthy people give just something the deficit will be cut into nothing. Yea, but then watch them just run it right back up again.

If we had a Republican president, we would still have most of the problems we are facing. Things wouldn't be any different. Democrats will be saying no not for the country's interest, rather their own.

The middle class and poor also have to play their part. Middle class, stop trying to impress your neighbors, family and friends by over spending all you take in. You are living on credit my people. You are not wealthy. The persons that you are hurting are you and your loved ones.

Poor people, you need to get out there and find something to bring in money. Stop waiting for the government to do it for you. American born people, look around and see who are making it in the USA. It's the Third World people who will do anything to survive. Try being like them when it comes to surviving and you too can make it.

Education makes a country, not the country makes education

Why do so many countries just not get it that education makes a country? The more well educated people in a country are the more successful that country is. Don't you think students should be given a major break to get an education? And I am not talking about those who just go to school to collect grant money. So much more time wasted on marijuana than on education

Put some of that money that is being used to fight the use of marijuana into education. Do you think that not legalizing marijuana will slow down the use of it? Think again. That will not stop people from smoking marijuana. People in general usually want to do things that are illegal, not what they can do legally.

Why are drugs so much wanted in the USA compared to Europe? Huh, it's because it is legal in Europe. In most countries that allow kids from about five to go to purchase cigarettes for their parents, you don't find massive smoking there. Why is that? Is it because they can get it if they want it? People want to get things that they have to fight for, sometimes kill for.

Legalize marijuana my people. Save lots of money on jail time. We will never be able to stop people from smoking marijuana massively as long as it is illegal.

Look into how some countries in Europe have dealt with smoking of marijuana.

Just for you to know, I do not smoke marijuana. I just think it is a waste of money to try to fight or stop something that can not be controlled. Even those who are arresting people for such crimes are highly involved. Yea, you know.

The dead need someone on their side!!!

Someone asked me the other day "Why are you so interested in the dead?" I had to think a bit before responding. The reason is because I could not understand why someone would ask such a question. My response was that the dead need someone on their side. My people we all have to die someday. Although some choose not to identify with death, it is coming to everyone we love and most importantly to ourselves. Why avoid talking about something that you can't avoid? Why would you want a nice send off, but rather not discuss it with others and share what you want? Or better yet why discuss it with a stranger who has nothing to gain rather than carrying your wishes out? Most have a hard time dealing with the loss of a loved one and usually make some wrong decisions.

Don't wait until a loved one dies before starting to make decisions on where or how to put your loved one away forever. Don't you think that we need to make plans for our own burial too? Some never go back to the grave site. Some never talk about that person again. Some never stop grieving. People do all kinds of things while grieving. My people, the best thing that can be done for the dead is to give them a proper burial and a complete secure burial spot forever.

Back to the idea that the dead need someone on their side. Huh. I have spent hundreds of hours visiting hundreds of cemeteries. And let me tell you, most people would like to be in a nice place after they die, a place where their loved ones can come to visit them or to look up on the Net to know where they are. A secure burial place my people. Burial in a tomb is not a secure burial place, unless you are a dignitary. And they too get lost and no one will ever be able to find their burial plot.

Lets not forget about those who don't care about how, where or what happens to them after death. That's their choice.

Liberians are known to overly care for their dead loved ones. They will go completely out of their way to give a dead loved one a proper high class burial with a grand repast. But I never understood why they choose to bury them into trash and just about anywhere. Why is that? Should they spend some of that repast money on making sure their loved one is securely buried forever?

My people, it is not wise to bury anyone on your farm, in your yard or in just any graveyard just because other loved ones are buried there or because it is family owned property. Liberia is still an underdeveloped country and many areas will be destroyed for new construction. Grand and great grandchildren may decide to sell the farm or private property or may want to develop it into some business and those loved ones' graves will be affected.

And the public cemetery right now in Liberia is not the place to inter your loved ones my people. For those Liberians who live in Liberia, you know what I am talking about.

When my late mother died, my siblings and I took her to Liberia to be buried as she wished. We bought an eight graves plot and even fenced it in with a gate. It did not stop others from burying their loved ones in our plot. They even built tomb on top of our love ones' graves. For me that is just burying your loved one just about anywhere.

Why do Liberians choose to cook in the cemetery, live there, and use it as a garbage dump? I just can't understand it.

I say to all Liberians living overseas. Don't take your loved ones to Liberia for burial, just because they want to be there and it is the right thing to do UNLESS you plan to give them a secure burial in a safe cemetery.

Doctors and money!!

Should a doctor discharge a patient because the patient missed an appointment? What if the patient is fifteen minutes late? What if the patient was traveling and did not know about the appointment?

Doctors' offices should not call and leave a message for a patient telling them that they have an appointment set for them and expect the patient to keep it, especially not knowing if the patient will get the message. When the patient does not show up the doctor discharges them. It is plain wrong.

Don't you think a patient should be the one to call and set up an appointment and if they do not show that should go against them? Their doctor could have used that time to see another sick person.

Why do doctors want patients to come in even if they are not ill?

There are some very good doctors out there who became a doctor to help sick people. But do you think some spend all of those years becoming a doctor just for the money? Think again my people. Huh...

H. Alice M. Railey-Cisco to be exhumed in February, 2011

The body of the late H. Alice Railey-Cisco will exhumed and transferred to Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery in February 2011. She was the oldest daughter of the late Col. James A. Railey and one of the first six nurses of Liberia, Henerietta Diggs-Williams-Bangura.

She taught at the Liberian College, now the College of West Africa, St. Teresa Convent, B.W. Harris High School, Monrovia Demonstration Elementary School, and McIntosh Elementary School. She was well loved by all of her students. Her nickname was Cousin Alice.

The bodies of her late mother Henreitta Diggs-Williams-Bangura, her late husband Counselor William A. Cisco Sr., and her late daughter, H. Marie Darlene Cisco-Bemah will be exhumed and transfer a week before her body is.

This announcement goes out to all of her family and friends.

From her Children: H. Carey Thomas III, William Spencer Railey Cisco, William Alexander Railey-Cisco, all of the USA, and William Anthonnie Cisco Jr. of Liberia. Her two daughters, Wilhelmina Lenecia Cisco and H. Marie Darlene Cisco-Bemah preceded her in death, and her son, William Tyrentheus F. Cisco Sr. passed away in 1999.

She taught at the College of West Africa for many years and was the founder of the junior college there. I believe she left during the civil war and returned there in October of 2009. She was well loved and cared for by all of her students.

On October 16, 2010, she was laid to rest at the Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Brewerville, Liberia, West Africa, a country that she dedicated her life to in making lots of Liberian men and women into what they are today.

You heard parents on the news saying that they talked about these issues with the child. Are they telling the truth? Did they really accept the child for who he or she is sexually? What about school rolls? Let's not talk about the churches. They probably let them take their own lives.

What is so hard to understand is that most of these so perfect people who think being gay is a sin are the worst sinners out there. Having a child out of wedlock is a sin, having sex before marriage is a sin, divorce is a sin, cheating on your spouse is a sin, masturbation is a sin, lusting is a sin, stealing is a sin, lying is a sin, nudity is a sin, abusing your body is a sin. Should I go on?

All and more of those are sinners. You stupid fool who just thinks same sex doings are the only sin that should not be allowed!

If you can do most or every other unacceptable act according to God and think you are righteous, than you are one of the biggest assholes on the planet and you all plenty.

Let same sex lovers live their lives just as you live yours sinning every second. Stop pointing your finger. Only the Lord knows where you just took it out of, and that was a sin.

Gay and lesbian teens, there is nothing wrong with who you are. Live your life; you are loved by millions and can make a difference in this world. But you have to stay alive. Just say no to the voice that says you have no place on earth. Just reject all of those thoughts and think positive. You see, life can be very beautiful for all, gays or whatever.

Teachers should be from the top of the class with high standards. Teachers should live their lives accordingly at all times, not just in the classroom. When I look around the country, I see lots of construction work on the roads going on. The domestic automotive industry problem seems to be fixed somewhat and there are many jobs that have been created. My people, the problem here is that too many jobs were lost at the same time and still are because of the many years of poor management of our economy.

Obama made so many promises that he may not be able to keep, but he has done some good I think. Don't you think his problem is that he wants to please everyone and is too close to the middle instead of being far left? But when I watch his body language on CNN while he told his congregation and guests that he will fight, all I got was a man who will lie, steal or do anything to get his way. Two witnesses in the trial of ex-Liberian President Charles Taylor have said the model Naomi Campbell received diamonds from Liberian warlord Charles Taylor.

Campbell's former agent Carole White and the actor Mia Farrow – both of whom were present at a dinner hosted by Nelson Mandela and attended by Taylor and Campbell – have given evidence in a court in the Hague today, some of which appeared to contradict the testimony given by the model last week.

Both White and Farrow said Campbell had been given diamonds while she was staying at Mandela's home in South Africa in September 1997.

Last week Campbell alleged that she had no idea who had sent her the "dirty looking stones" until breakfasting with Farrow and others the morning after.

On Thursday, August 5th, Naomi Campbell, the famous British model, admitted to receiving some “very small, dirty looking stones” Thursday as a gift from former Liberian President Charles Taylor in testimony at The Hague at Taylor's war crimes trial.

Ms. Campbell said she received the diamonds in 1997 after she had attended a dinner hosted by Nelson Mandela and attended by Taylor. She said that two men knocked on her door while she was sleeping, and when she opened the door the men handed her a small bag of diamonds. She denied knowing that they were "blood diamonds."

Campbell said she "assumed" the diamonds came from Taylor. She testified that she gave the diamonds away to be auctioned for charity. But the person that she said she gave the diamonds to, Jeremy Ratcliffe, a trustee of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, has denied ever receiving the diamonds.

This is very interesting. Is Naomi Campbell trying to hide something? If she had really given the diamonds to Mr. Ratcliffe, don't you think he would remember that? Something is very fishy here. Somebody, and at this point we don't know who, is either lying or they are very mistaken. Hopefully the authorities can get to the bottom of this.

Meanwhile Taylor's war crimes trial continues. This entire story is very big news in Liberia, and you can hear various theories about what really might have happened.

Dengue fever continues to be a serious health problem in the tropics on several continents.

With more than one-third of the world’s population living in areas at risk for transmission, dengue infection is a leading cause of illness and death in the tropics and subtropics. As many as 100 million people are infected yearly. Dengue is caused by any one of four related viruses transmitted by mosquitoes. There are not yet any vaccines to prevent infection with dengue virus (DENV) and the most effective protective measures are those that avoid mosquito bites. When infected, early recognition and prompt supportive treatment can substantially lower the risk of developing severe disease.

Dengue has emerged as a worldwide problem only since the 1950s. Although dengue rarely occurs in the continental United States, it is endemic in Puerto Rico, and in many popular tourist destinations in Latin America and Southeast Asia; periodic outbreaks occur in Samoa and Guam.

What are they talking about? Prostitution has been way up there at the top in most large cities in the world. And Monrovia, Liberia, is no different. If U. S. Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhodes Island) has his way former Liberian President Charles Ghankay Taylor should stay as far away from Liberia as possible. Kennedy, one of the eight U. S. lawmakers to visit Liberia a few days ago told reporters that Taylor is great harm to Liberia.

Taylor is a billionaire and his children will be one of the world's most wealthy in the future. A most recent investigation uncovered allegations of medical malpractice and irregularities at the ELWA Hospital off the Roberts Field Highway in Liberia. So many die in Liberia daily because most of the doctors there who will not be allowed to take out bed pans are practicing medicine not knowing what most of the medical instruments are made to be used for.

Motorbikes and Liberian youth

Why are there so many motor bikes on the streets of Liberia? Some say it's for an easy way to get from one end of town to the other. But my people these kids are killing people or themselves everyday. Why can't the Ministry of Transportation have some rules in place? Why are there are no classes in learning how to ride the damn things and traffic laws and rules before these assholes get on the road with a bike?

These guys are all through the traffic on the side wall overtaking cars, trucks, etc. They do not understand or know the traffic signs and when the people stop all autos at a stop the motorbikes also have to stop.

Ministry of Transportation, it is your fault for all the death and accidents in Liberia that happen daily. You need to educate these people so many can stop dying daily from their negligence. Make them attend some form of class to learn how to ride and where to ride and obey all traffic rules.

Golden Girl Rue McClanahan, 76, has died.

"She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning," her manager, Barbara Lawrence, tells PEOPLE. She had a massive stroke."

McClanahan, who played Blanche Deveraux on the still-popular '80s sitcom Golden Girls, had suffered a minor stroke earlier this year while recovering from bypass surgery. Lawrence added that at the time of her death Thursday, McClanahan “had her family with her. She went in peace.”

Maybe 90 percent of Liberians go to a church or a mosque weekly.

Liberians why do you bother to go to church, a mosque or a pray so

you go to church for a break.

Why does one need to bribe a judge, sheriff or a bailiff to get

So all of you who are walking around with college degrees earned them?
Lets see, there are local places one can go to have a high school
degree, college degree, law degree and almost anything printed. This
too is Liberia my people. Well right here in the USA one can buy the
same.

And this thing about rape, having sex with a two year old girl and
destroying her life forever, or little boys or even old women? Huh..Oh
what the medicine man says for good luck. My people the only good
luck there is for the medicine man is you who are foolish enough to
keep giving your funds to him. And all that church going stuff to go
to heaven? Give me a break you stupid fool. God is not a dump like
you. Think about it.

Funny, I know a few Liberians who have college diploma stating that
they graduated from the University of Liberia. I'm talking about the
baby boomer age group. You damn well know you were given a diploma
because of their family connections or spreading your over used
private parts to professors or to whomever has the connection to get
you that degree. So stop acting like you earned it. Some of us know
who you are. Your parents and your private parts will always have that
dent in them for being used for that purpose. What a secret one has to
live with huh? You too are a completely hopeless poor Joe.

You girl, that car you are driving, how many times did your vagina get
pounded for you to afford it? I forgot maybe just once and you got
the car, but then you can't remember huh?

And young guys, bet your assholes stay wet, loose as an elephant's ass

Liberians stop stealing from yourself and your country

My Liberian people, don't you all think it is time for all Liberians
to stop complaining about what the president and minsters etc.
are doing that you don't like and focus on what positive impact you can
make for your country? So much is stolen from this country by it's own
citizens daily. Don't you think, I am talking to you common citizens
and foreigners who live in Liberia, it's no joke? Everyone and his
brother spend most of the day trying to get over on someone. Why? Stop
trying to take each other to the cleaners. Get off your lazy assess and
find some form of work or business to do to help yourself. Stop the
begging my people.

Stop trying to get every little thing free. I am talking to you my
people. When a police officer pulls you over for a traffic violation, don't
give that officer a penny. If you have broken the law, justice you
should face. Be willing to pay your fine or go to jail if necessary. But don't
give any crooked cop a cent. Make sure he or she will never have another
opportunity to repeat the action against another person.

What about when you go into a bank and make a withdrawal and find out later that you were given counterfeit money instead of legal bills? Is the
bank teller a good citizen who gave you that money when she or her friends have some form of network running stealing from the public? Huh they are a rouge, no different than the armed robbers who break into one's home and steal.

What about those who make four to five hundred dollars a month, but are
driving a very expensive car and building a dream house that they should not be able to afford on their monthly salary? Don't think hard here my people, they too are a rogue. Well lets be fair now. Maybe they are using their private parts or even their mouth as a money maker. They too are rogues, stealing from the body and while doing so passing around diseases to your brother, sister, uncle, auntie, etc, etc. They are also completely high class sluts and disease factories or a disease warehouse. My people if you are one of those you too are a rouge.

What about the landlord who expects the tenant to fix everything on
a place they are renting to you? You too landlord are corrupted and a big rogue.

If you bought land or a house from someone and later find out the
person you bought from was not the rightful owner and had no right to
sell, my people do the right thing and turn over the property without
a major court battle and unnecessary hassles to all involved.

Think about it, why should that person give away something they too
want and had before you? If you fight for that property you are a rogue
and very corrupted.

Liberians need to stop leasing or selling their properties to foreigners
for little or nothing. Do you know that those foreigners are making millions of dollars off of your stupidity? Don't do it my people unless they pay you something good. Your property has a valve and that is why those people want it. They know they are going to make big bucks while you sit around in the poor house telling your friends you own that place. What place do you own? Oh you mean the land that you have given away for years that your grandchild may not enjoy?

They too are rogues and you are too stealing from yourself and your country.

Say the "F" word to anyone who tries to get your property for chicken feed. Do you know that those foreigners think of you as a stupid fool? Think again my people, this is how they see us, ass dumb stupid loose asses.

What about when you are overcharged? Don't let anyone sell you a lemon.

What about those who have stolen millions from the government,
driving around in fancy cars, spending hundreds on clubs and traveling? If
you are one of those you too are a rogue and leaving stolen money
and property to your heirs. Liberians stop buying eating or doing
business with anyone who you have proof has stolen from your
country. Those rogues stole from you too. Don't give them another
cent. Why do most Liberians think they are qualified to solve other's
problems? Did we all go to law, medical, banking or training in the area
of conversion we try to get into? Why do we stop and listen to other's
conversations? In a way you are stealing private information. That
makes you too a rogue.

You know you could use all that free time to become a real lawyer, doctor, or anything you want .

I have been busy

I want to apologize to all of my blog followers for not having updated this blog lately. I have been very busy with ongoing construction work on Liberia's first privately owned cemetery, Kaiser Memorial Lawn. And I just haven't had a chance to do much blogging lately. But I hope to be able to make more frequent updates in the future.

We are having two more burials today at the cemetery, and things are coming along nicely. We are almost ready to start phase two during which we will be installing a state of the art crematory. Updates on the progress will continue to be posted on this blog.

I also intend to post some more pictures as soon as I get a chance to.

The Chilean Earthquake

My heart goes out to the victims of the very strong earthquake that hit Chile yesterday. After last month's Haitian quake, who would have thought that we would have an even stronger quake in the same hemisphere? This one was was an 8.8 which makes it one of the strongest in recorded history.

I wonder if mother nature is trying to tell us something. And I wonder where the next strong earthquake will strike. Could it be the San Francisco Bay Area, which is overdue for "the" big one, according to geologists? I think that if I lived there I would be quite concerned.

But back to yesterday's quake. At first it was thought that it might produce a devastating tsunami that might swamp the Hawaiian Islands along the lines of the one that devastated Indonesia and other countries in 2004, but thank God, it appears that it won't happen. The last I heard was that they are still watching for a potential tsunami in Japan however.

At least in the case of Chili, they have an infrastructure that will be able to help them rebuild from the destruction caused by the quake. That is unlike poor Haiti, where virtually no infrastructure existed. So far apparently Chili hasn't even requested outside assistance from other countries. However, tragically, there has been considerable loss of life, with the toll already in the hundreds and destined to go higher.

My condolences to the family of the dead Georgian Olympic competitor

In a tragic accident yesterday, Georgian luge competitor Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed when he hit the side of the chute and careened over the edge during a practice run at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Luge is a dangerous sport, and I'm sure that Nodar understood the risks that he was taking, but nonetheless, it is a terrible thing to happen and my sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. To lose life at such a young age is senseless.

Olympic officials have announced that the luge competition will continue, but that steps will be taken to make the course safer. I think that it is a good decision to do that and to dedicate the competition to their fallen comrade's memory. I suspect that this is the way that Nodar would have wanted it.

May God bless Nodar's family with serenity and love in this time of their great grief and loss.

Merry Cristmas and a Happy New Year to you all

The Holidays have been a very said time for me all of my life. My mother's father was buried on Christmas Eve in 1946. Her oldest daughter too was buried on Christmas Eve in 1951. And also her mother was buried on Christmas Eve in 1976. So you see whenever the holidays came around Mama was very sad. She did her best to make the holidays special for me and my siblings, but we could see the hurt and remember the death of few special loved ones in her eyes.

I remember going to the cemetery with mama to visit these people on Christmas day. Back then, I did not understand why. But now since Mama too is dead, I go to visit her grave at the cemetery and talk to her. I wish she was alive all the time. She was not just my mother, but my very best friend.

In remembrance of my late mother...I WISH YOU ALL MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Mama, continue to rest in peace.

Liberians are on the way to rebuilding their country, but it's way behind time

My people, have you noticed how Liberians walk on the streets? They draw like there is no tomorrow and just don't give a damn for the person who is walking behind them. They sometimes even stop right in the middle of the road or street knowing that someone else is trying to walk to some serious appointment. What about cars or taxis stopping in intersection or in the center lane to let someone out? And forget having a conversation with someone...

National Christmas Tree

The national Christmas tree of Liberia was lit on Wednesday, December 16th by the Honorable Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, president of the Republic of Liberia. The president was joined in the ceremony by the Chief Justice of Liberia, His Honor Johnnie Lewis, among others. The ceremony was held on the grounds of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia. There was choir music for the occasion, and the president extended best wishes to all for the joyous holiday season.

Liberians love their holidays, and Christmas is no exception. The streets of Monrovia have been filled with Christmas shoppers, and there are Christmas trees and lights everywhere. On Christmas Day, Liberians will celebrate the day with friends and family and attend church.
